My journey into martial arts and physical fitness began at the age of 7 when I started learning in the art of taekwondo for three years, achieving the rank of blue belt red tag.I then spent two years at Dulwich Hamlet, immersing myself in football, dodgeball, racing, handball, and a plethora of cardiovascular exercises including pushups and pullups. It was during this time that I encountered my mentor, Jonathan, at David Lloyd gym, where he introduced me to the art of Muay Thai. Initially hesitant in this new environment, I found it to be extremely welcoming and friendly. Jonathan and my fellow classmates did this for around 1-2 years.
The balance between intensity and enjoyment in Jonathan's classes quickly won me over, and when the sessions transitioned to the more versatile setting of The Commando Temple, my passion for Muay Thai only expanded. Over the years, I honed my skills, participating in five Interclubs and dedicating two years to teaching alongside my friend, Finn. Jonathan's dream was to have his own gym, and I found myself assisting him in turning his dream into reality. Today, as a Muay Thai coach and upcoming fighter with six Interclubs, I am looking forward for the challenges ahead, with upcoming decision fights. My name is Kadell McMillan, and I invite you to join me on this journey of self-discovery and empowerment.
